Job Description
Precision Mechanical Machine Assembler

Location: Holland, MI
Pay: $22–$31/hour
Schedule: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Position Type: Long-Term Contract-to-Hire

What your day looks like

At 7:00 AM, you’ll open your build packet, review intermediate-level assembly prints, and gather parts for the day’s project. You’ll stage hardware and components, then begin assembling mechanical subassemblies, checking fit and function as you go. When questions arise, you’ll sync with a lead builder, take direction, and apply what you learn immediately. Throughout the day, you’ll keep the work area organized, work safely around and under equipment, and maintain consistent quality and productivity. As projects progress, you’ll shift between independent tasks and teamwork to meet build milestones. The shift wraps at 3:30 PM, with occasional overtime when projects require it.

What you’ll build and do
  • Assemble machines and mechanical components from part lists and assembly drawings.
  • Interpret intermediate mechanical prints to sequence builds and verify tolerances.
  • Sort, kit, and organize materials to support efficient assembly flow.
  • Work solo or alongside experienced machine builders to hit project targets.
  • Follow guidance from lead builders and learn through hands-on training.
  • Keep safety, quality, and throughput at the forefront on every task.
  • Use basic hand tools and sustain a clean, organized workstation.
  • Perform physical tasks: bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working on/under/around machinery.
  • Support project timelines with occasional overtime.
  • Be prepared for future travel of about 20% as the role expands.
What you bring
  • Proven mechanical aptitude or practical mechanical experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret part and assembly drawings (intermediate level).
  • Basic computer proficiency for referencing prints and documentation.
  • Safety-first mindset with attention to detail and quality.
  • Reliability in following instructions and finishing tasks efficiently.
  • Comfort working independently and collaborating in a team setting.
  • Stamina for steady-paced, hands-on work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Eagerness to learn and expand machine-building skills on the job.
  • Personal basic hand tools (required).
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20% in the future.

If you thrive on building real machinery from precise drawings—and want to grow alongside seasoned builders—this role offers a clear path to develop your craft while contributing to a quality-focused manufacturing team.
