STRUCTURAL FITTER

kad is seeking an experienced Structural Fitter to join its team for an upcoming barge project. This role requires hands-on ship repair experience and proficiency in torch work, including washing and clean-off operations. This is a long-term opportunity for a skilled fitter with a strong background in shipyard environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform torch washing and clean-off work on barge structures
• Fit and align structural components in accordance with project specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders related to ship repair
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with company and site safety policies
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule
• Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of tools and equipment used for fitting and torch work

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in shipyard or ship repair environments
• Demonstrated experience with torch washing and clean-off work
• Ability to understand and communicate in English as required for safe and efficient job execution
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work instructions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Ability to work as part of a team in a shipyard or barge environment
