Role Overview
The Depot Operator/Specialist is responsible for performing all necessary tasks within the operating facility (Depot) to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient day-to-day operations.
Eligibility & Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Previous experience working in a depot, warehouse, fleet, or maintenance environment is preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the launch and landing functions involved in deploying and returning autonomous vehicles (AVs) during driverless operations.
Perform autonomous vehicle cleaning and disinfection.
Conduct AV operational safety and integrity checks.
Charge autonomous vehicles and ensure they are ready for operation.
Prepare AVs for launch, including system start-up and fire-up checks.
Park, stage, and organize vehicles within the depot.
Strictly follow all applicable safety procedures while working in the depot.
Comply with all Service Provider safety procedures and applicable safety manuals.
Perform ad hoc projects and other operational tasks as needed, including activities supporting AV testing and delivery.
Complete assigned duties within required timelines while adhering to operational schedules.
Complete daily reports, documentation, and operational records accurately.
Necessary Skills
Ability to connect and disconnect laptops, charging cables, and other operational equipment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify operational or safety issues.
Ability to adapt quickly to new and developing technologies, systems, and processes.
Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safety requirements consistently.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
Work Schedule
Must be available to work assigned shifts, including:
Early mornings
Evenings
Weekends
Overnight shifts
Schedule flexibility is required based on operational needs.
Physical Requirements
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to climb stairs, reach, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required.
Ability to hear safety horns, pre-shift announcements, and safety messages.
Ability to safely perform physical tasks required within the depot environment.
