Job Title: Material Handler I

Overview Summary

Summit Staffing is seeking a dependable and hardworking Material Handler to support warehouse operations. In this role, you’ll be responsible for safely moving, organizing, and handling merchandise and materials while using an RF scanner to accurately track inventory and product movement.

Location: Wilmer, TX

Type: Temp to hire

Pay: $16.50/hour

Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

Load, unload, move, and organize merchandise and materials throughout the warehouse.
Use an RF scanner to scan, track, locate, and move inventory accurately.
Prepare products and materials for shipment.
Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, carts, and other material-handling equipment.
Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
Verify product quantities and locations using the RF scanning system.
Report damaged, missing, or incorrect merchandise.
Follow all company safety procedures and warehouse guidelines.
Assist with receiving, staging, and storing materials as needed.
Work with team members to meet daily productivity and operational goals.
Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience

Previous warehouse, distribution, or material-handling experience is preferred.
Ability to confidently use an RF scanner is required.
Ability to accurately scan and track inventory and product locations.
Ability to safely lift, carry, and move merchandise and materials.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Comfortable standing, walking, bending, lifting, and performing physical warehouse duties throughout the shift.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience operating RF scanners in a warehouse or distribution environment.
Previous experience operating pallet jacks or other warehouse equipment.
Previous experience in a distribution, retail, or fulfillment environment.
Familiarity with basic warehouse safety procedures.
Prior experience working toward daily productivity goals.

Work Environment

1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM.
Fast-paced warehouse environment.
Position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving materials.
Employees are expected to follow all required safety procedures and PPE requirements.
