Civil Litigation Attorney Kansas City

Direct Counsel is representing a well-established law firm that is seeking a highly motivated Civil Litigation Attorney with 6+ years of active civil litigation experience to join its growing Kansas City office. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator who is comfortable managing a busy caseload and wants meaningful involvement in all stages of litigation.

 Responsibilities:

• Independently manage an active caseload with minimal supervision

• Draft complex pleadings and motions, including petitions, answers, motions for summary judgment, and discovery-related motions

• Conduct legal research and draft persuasive legal documents

• Participate in jury and bench trials in state and federal courts

• Assist with appellate matters and other litigation projects as needed

 Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• 6+ years of active civil litigation experience

• Demonstrated ability to independently manage a litigation caseload

• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills

• Ability to learn new areas of practice and take ownership of assignments
