Job Description
Imagine Your First Week

You arrive at a plant known for shaping the industry standard in integrated boiler and burner systems. As part of our final assembly crew, you’ll build and install components on boiler heads and complete boilers so they’re ready for test firing. It’s an entry-level role with limited independent decision-making, but your impact is immediate as you master multiple assembly cells and contribute to safe, reliable heat and energy solutions across industries.

About Cleaver-Brooks

For more than 80 years, Cleaver-Brooks has led the boiler/burner market with fully integrated solutions. We uniquely design and manufacture boilers, burners, controls, and a comprehensive range of ancillary and aftermarket products. Our single-source approach streamlines the boiler room, helping customers reduce total cost and optimize space while prioritizing efficiency, reliability, safety, and environmental sustainability.

What Your Day Looks Like

Guided by a Trainer, Cell Leader, or Foreman, you’ll rotate through and become fully competent in at least three assembly cells, delivering on production and quality standards. You’ll:

  • Assemble burner drawers and air compressors; cut pipe nipples from ¼” to 4” and use the tube bender for varied applications.
  • Mount components on CB, CBE, CBLE, CBW, CBX, and CEW front heads: control panel, motor base, electrical devices and conduit, air hood, and all oil and gas piping.
  • Install gas trains, oil piping, air lines, blowdown, water columns, and air compressors on all boiler sizes.
  • Read prints and wire motors and components at 24, 110, 208, 230, 460, and 575 volts.
  • Populate E-boxes and control panels and complete wiring using the E.M.S. and wiring diagrams.
  • Pipe and test gas trains, water columns, starter trains, and pilot trains.
  • Wire all CB boilers and subsystems: front head to junction or E-box; from E-box to pressure control, air compressor, oil pumps, gas trains, and aquastats; mount and wire disconnects of all sizes.
  • Fit and hang front and rear doors for every model and size.
  • Always follow plant safety rules and regulations; complete other tasks assigned by the Cell Leader or Foreman; direct questions to the Trainer, Cell Leader, or Foreman.
Physical Demands
  • Lift up to 60 lbs. to chest height on a regular basis.
  • Stand and walk on hard concrete for up to 12 hours.
  • Frequently bend, stretch, stoop, squat, and climb ladders up to 8 feet; climb stairs.
  • Work in temperatures that mirror outdoor ambient conditions.
  • Access all areas of the facility, indoors and outdoors.
Working Environment
  • Exposure to noise, dust, dirt, welding fumes, natural gas, fuel oils, and machine lubricants/oils.
  • Use required PPE at all times, including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed shoes, and fall protection.
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Solid reading, writing, and math capabilities.
  • Technical training as an industrial electrician preferred.
  • At least six months as a Trainee or one year of electrical and/or plumbing/piping experience in a related manufacturing setting.
Compensation & Benefits

We offer a competitive salary and a comprehensive package: medical, dental, vision, flexible spending account, wellness benefits, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, a cash-matching 401(k), generous vacation, and 11 paid holidays.
