Job Description
RN - Emergency Department
Job Summary
Provides nursing care to patients with acute illnesses, injuries, and emergency conditions. Performs rapid assessments, prioritizes care, administers treatments, and responds to changes in patient condition.
Education & Experience
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required)
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department or acute care nursing experience (Preferred)
Licenses & Certifications
• Current RN license in state of practice (Required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Required)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (Preferred)
Key Responsibilities
• Performs rapid assessments and triages patients based on acuity.
• Monitors vital signs and identifies changes in patient condition.
• Administers medications, IV therapy, and emergency treatments as ordered.
• Responds to medical emergencies, trauma, and other critical situations.
• Collaborates with physicians and the emergency care team to coordinate patient care.
• Provides patient and family education and emotional support.
• Documents assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record.
