About this job
Job Description
Join a growing telecommunications organization in the Bloomington, Indiana area as a direct hire. As a Fiber Network Field Operations Specialist, you’ll be on the front lines supporting our fiber network—pairing hands-on field work with real-time collaboration alongside remote technical teams to keep services reliable and customers delighted.
A Day in the LifeYou start by reviewing overnight tickets with the network operations team, then head into the field to inspect network cabinets and outside plant infrastructure. Before lunch, you complete fiber testing on a new route and document the results. The afternoon brings a customer activation—light levels look good, and a quick coordination with the remote NOC confirms a clean turn-up. Later, you verify a contractor’s splice work, flagging a quality concern for rework. If an unexpected outage pops up, you’re ready to assist restoration efforts and ensure a safe, thorough repair.
