Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Scan Technologist for a Level I Trauma and Academic Medical Center, requiring 2+ years of recent CT experience and Epic EMR proficiency.
Details
- Radiology department within a Level I Trauma and Academic Medical Center
- Performs CT exams on outpatients, inpatients (stable and intensive care), research patients, and trauma/ER cases
- Includes specialized CT scan-guided procedures
- Friday through Sunday shifts, 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM
- No on-call responsibilities
- Weekend coverage required every weekend
- Rotating holiday coverage
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved two-year AMA Radiologic Technology School
- High school diploma plus completion of the two-year program
- NYS Registration in Diagnostic Radiography or limited permit to practice in NY (license required if applicable)
- ARRT registration required
- Current BLS certification from AHA or RQI
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in CT
- Epic EMR experience required
- Active NYS license required at time of consideration
- US Social Security Number required
- No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Performs technical procedures under the direction of the Medical Director, Section Head, Clinical Specialist, Manager, and Radiologist
- Utilizes CT modality to create diagnostic images and ensure a safe, positive patient experience
- Supports teaching and ongoing learning as imaging technology evolves
- Practices and enforces radiation safety measures per NY State Department of Health code part 16
- Completion of competency testing may be required for certain units
- Facility only accepts medical exemptions for flu vaccination, signed by a licensed professional; personal or religious declinations are not accepted
- No blocked scheduling permitted
- More than 3 call-outs within a 13-week period may result in contract termination, with required make-up shifts completed within 6 weeks
- RTO must be requested at time of consideration
- Local candidates within a 50-mile radius from specific counties (Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, and Washington) are not eligible
