Ambulance Driver – Non-Medical Driver

We are looking for a dependable, responsible, and safety-conscious Ambulance Driver to join our team. This position is strictly focused on driving and transportation. The selected driver will be responsible for safely operating an ambulance and transporting patients or clients to and from designated locations as instructed.

This is a driver position only. Medical treatment or patient care is NOT required. The driver will not be responsible for diagnosing, treating, administering medication, or providing medical assistance.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and drive the ambulance.
• Transport patients/clients to and from designated locations.
• Follow assigned routes and transportation instructions.
• Operate the vehicle responsibly and follow all applicable traffic and safety regulations.
• Maintain a professional and respectful attitude toward passengers, staff, and other road users.
• Perform basic vehicle safety checks before and after trips.
• Keep the ambulance clean and report any vehicle problems or maintenance concerns.
• Maintain accurate transportation or trip records when required.
• Communicate professionally with dispatch or the designated contact regarding pickup and drop-off locations.
• Respond appropriately to changes in routes, schedules, or transportation instructions.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Clean or acceptable driving record.
• Reliable and responsible.
• Safe driving habits.
• Ability to follow directions and use GPS/navigation.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work independently and remain calm while driving.
• Previous professional driving experience is preferred.
• Ambulance/emergency vehicle driving experience is a plus.
• Must meet any applicable state/local requirements for operating an ambulance.

Important

This is NOT an EMT or paramedic position. No medical treatment or medical assistance is required from the driver. The driver’s primary responsibility is the safe and professional operation of the ambulance and transportation of passengers.

Applicants may be required to provide proof of a valid driver’s license and driving record and successfully complete any required background or employment screening.

Schedule

Flexible scheduling may be available depending on transportation needs.

Compensation

$18–$25 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
