Quality Manager

Direct and manage the Quality Department functions with overall responsibilities for production quality activities within both the Peninsula and Twinsburg facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for directing and supervising department personnel in the inspection and quality control procedures as it relates to purchased material, in-process material and finished products to ensure that quality control standards are achieved.
• Plan and assign work of subordinates.
• Serve as the primary contact for customer, supplier and outside services with regard to all Quality Assurance requirements.
• Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of all Corrective Action items encountered both internal to General and for all external interested parties to include customers and suppliers
• Develop and/or adapt inspection equipment to meet quality control standards, make suggestions with regard to procedures, standards and equipment to facilitate work and maintain product quality.
• Analyze facts or circumstances surrounding individual problems to determine what action should be taken within the limits of standard practices.
• Responsible for compilation and maintenance of inspection reports and records.
• Investigate and determine cause of faulty work and consult and advise production supervisors as to corrective measures.
• Maintain discipline, morale and harmonious relations among peers and subordinates.
• Knowledge of Inspection and Quality Control methods, techniques and equipment.
• Knowledge of use of a wide variety of measuring instruments and complicated drawings.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience.
• Strong aptitude with regard to Statistical Process Control and its application to Manufacturing
• Strong aptitude in problem solving methods and applications with emphasis on root cause analysis
• Thorough understanding of ISO 9001 and QMS requirements
• A minimum of 3-5 years experience in Quality Control in a manufacturing environment.

1st shift: 7am-3pm
2nd shift: 3pm-11pm
3rd shift: 11pm-7am
