Job Description
Greetings! We're seeking a qualified and experienced Food Service Specialist who will act as support within an institutional dining operations team. Our Food Service Specialist reports to the Food Service Manager. The primary focus is meal preparation, with additional responsibilities in food preparation and sanitation, buffet style self-serve food service, and customer order taking. This role requires standing for at least 8 hours per shift within a fast-paced cafeteria environment specifically with Georgia youth.
Responsibilities
- Prepare meals for institutional dining operations.
- Provide food service and buffet food service to customers.
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Follow food safety and sanitation practices.
- Control inventory and monitor food supplies.
- Maintain kitchen sanitation and cleanliness.
- Portion food according to established guidelines.
- Operate food service and kitchen equipment safely.
Required Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in food service operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to stand for at least 8 hours per shift.
Preferred Qualifications
- Food service or culinary training.
- Experience with food preparation.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation.
- Experience with inventory management.
- Knowledge of portion control.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
