Packaging Machine Operator – Santa Teresa, NM

Job Description

The Packaging Machine Operator is responsible for operating packaging equipment, maintaining product quality, and supporting warehouse and production activities. This role requires attention to detail, reliability, and adherence to safety and environmental standards. The position follows a rotating 12‐hour shift schedule every four months.

Responsibilities

• Machine Operation — Operate the plastic strapping machine and shrink gun for packaging.
• Product Control — Count, weigh, and verify finished products to ensure correct type, quality, quantity, and batch.
• Material Handling — Transport finished products to the dispatching warehouse and retrieve packaging materials as needed.
• Recordkeeping — Maintain accurate records of completed work and use required computer programs.
• Equipment Maintenance — Perform simple maintenance, cleaning, and calibration checks on tools, scales, and equipment.
• Quality Inspection — Conduct routine inspections and verify product quality throughout the shift.
• Safety & Cleanliness — Maintain a clean work area and follow all safety and environmental rules.
• Fault Reporting — Report equipment faults or production issues promptly.
• Assembly & Packaging — Assemble packages, pack items into containers, and run packaging machines.

Requirements

• Manufacturing Experience — Minimum 1 year preferred.
• Packaging Machinery — Experience operating packaging equipment is a plus.
• Quality Control — Ability to check product quality and follow standards.
• Forklift — Forklift experience preferred.
• Shift Flexibility — Ability to work rotating 12‐hour shifts every 4 months.
• Location — Must be able to commute or relocate to Santa Teresa, NM 88008.
