About the Role:
Academy of Excellence Learning Center in Lancaster, CA is looking for a passionate and energetic After School Teacher to join our dedicated team! This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students by creating a safe, fun, and enriching after-school environment. Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage students in a safe, structured, and supportive after-school setting
- Plan and facilitate age-appropriate academic, recreational, and enrichment activities
- Assist students with homework, reading, and other academic assignments
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and school staff
- Maintain classroom management and enforce behavioral expectations
- Monitor student progress and communicate updates to program coordinators
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all students at all times
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in ECE must
- Previous experience working with school-age children in an educational or childcare setting
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to plan and lead engaging, creative activities for diverse learners
- Patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic demeanor with a genuine passion for youth development
- Must pass a background check and meet state childcare requirements
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus
