Medical Assistants

• Taking and recording vital signs — blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration.
• Preparing patients for exams — reviewing medical history, explaining procedures, ensuring comfort.
• Assisting with examinations and minor procedures — handing instruments, maintaining sterile fields.
• Collecting specimens — blood draws (phlebotomy), urine samples, swabs.
• Performing basic lab tests — point‐of‐care testing such as glucose checks or rapid strep tests.
• Administering medications — often under physician supervision, depending on state rules.
• Wound care — cleaning, dressing changes, and suture removal where permitted.
• Electrocardiograms (EKGs) — preparing patients and running tests.
• Maintaining exam rooms — stocking supplies, sanitizing equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Candidate will also be involved in:

• Scheduling appointments and managing provider calendars.
• Patient check‐in and check‐out — verifying insurance, collecting copays, updating demographics.
• Medical records management — entering data into electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Insurance and billing support — coding assistance, prior authorizations, claim follow‐up.
• Answering phones and patient messages — triaging non‐clinical questions and routing clinical ones.
• Coordinating referrals to specialists or imaging centers.
• Managing inventory — ordering medical supplies and tracking usage.

Requires skill:

• Strong communication with patients and clinical staff.
• Attention to detail for accurate documentation and safe clinical work.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic anatomy.
• Proficiency with EHR systems and office software.
• Compassion and professionalism in patient interactions.
• Ability to multitask in a fast‐paced environment when required
