Senior Procurement Specialist

Are you a procurement professional with strong purchasing experience and advanced Excel and Power BI skills? Our client is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to own strategic purchasing, supplier relationships, material planning, and procurement analytics in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

• Lead day-to-day sourcing and purchasing activities for a variety of components, including electrical components, motors, batteries, suspension and steering components, safety systems, hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies, fabricated metal, plastics, glass, 3D-printed parts, and MRO/facilities items.
• Use MRP and Master Production Schedule (MPS) data to develop purchasing plans, issue purchase orders, and proactively manage production shortages.
• Partner with Engineering on New Product Introduction (NPI), sourcing prototype components and helping transition parts into production.
• Identify and resolve critical supply issues and develop strategies to mitigate supplier and delivery risks.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, volume discounts, and long-term supplier agreements.
• Monitor inventory and safety stock levels while minimizing excess inventory.
• Develop and improve purchasing processes and procedures.
• Analyze procurement data and create reports to support purchasing and business decisions.
• Use advanced Microsoft Excel and Power BI to analyze data, identify trends, monitor performance, and provide actionable insights.
• Mentor and support less-experienced purchasing team members and help guide procurement decisions.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field with 7+ years of procurement experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, SQL, or other Business Intelligence tools.
• Strong understanding of MRP, purchasing, and material planning.
• Proven supplier negotiation and contract management experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills — this is a key requirement.
• Hands-on Power BI experience with the ability to analyze data and create meaningful reports/dashboards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated project, process, and people leadership skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and make sound purchasing decisions.
