Research Compliance Coordinator

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Research Compliance Coordinator to ensure the highest standards of compliance in research protocols. This role involves reviewing research protocols for IRB compliance, supporting IRB committee operations, and providing guidance on federal human subjects research regulations. The ideal candidate will play a crucial part in maintaining regulatory completeness and supporting process improvements within the IRB.

Responsibilities

  • Review research protocols and submissions for IRB compliance.
  • Conduct protocol pre-reviews and ensure regulatory completeness.
  • Support IRB committee operations by preparing meeting agendas and minutes.
  • Draft correspondence for investigators.
  • Interpret and apply federal human subjects research regulations.
  • Provide guidance to investigators and study teams on research compliance.
  • Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, and training materials.
  • Manage protocol approvals, renewals, amendments, and expirations.
  • Assist with audits and compliance reviews.
  • Generate departmental metrics and reports.
  • Serve as an internal resource for human research protection questions.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives within the IRB.

Essential Skills

  • IRB administration
  • Human subject research expertise
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 years of research compliance experience
  • Familiarity with policy and SOP development

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • CIP (Certified IRB Professional) certification

Work Environment

The position typically requires working hours from 8 AM to 5 PM, with the possibility of extra hours as needed. This is a salaried position with hybrid work options, including the possibility of fully remote work for candidates with ideal experience. Hybrid employees are expected to work onsite on Wednesdays with the team, though some flexibility is available. The current IRB team includes three Senior Compliance Coordinators, four Compliance Coordinators, an IRB Supervisor, and a Director of IRB.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
