Job Description
2nd shift
We are looking for a Battery Test Technician to support the testing and evaluation of electric vehicle (EV) batteries in a laboratory environment. This position involves setting up battery tests, monitoring battery performance, collecting test data, and assisting engineers with battery assembly, disassembly, and analysis.
This is a hands-on role working with advanced EV battery technology in a state-of-the-art testing facility. Training will be provided, including high-voltage battery safety training.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and prepare battery packs, modules, and cells for testing
- Install sensors, wiring, and test equipment on batteries
- Monitor battery tests and record results
- Assemble and disassemble battery packs as needed
- Perform inspections and basic troubleshooting
- Assist with battery teardown and failure analysis
- Build or modify test fixtures, cables, and other support equipment
- Move, handle, ship, and dispose of large battery assemblies safely
- Maintain accurate records of testing activities and data
- Communicate test results and observations to engineering teams
- Support vibration, environmental, safety, and abuse testing
- Follow all safety procedures when working with high-voltage systems, cranes, hoists, and other equipment
- Maintain an organized and safe work area
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of mechanical, electrical, automotive, manufacturing, or laboratory experience preferred
- Basic mechanical skills and experience using hand tools
- Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable working around high-voltage battery systems (training provided)
- Able to lift and handle large battery components safely
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with EV batteries, automotive systems, or test equipment
- Ability to read engineering drawings or schematics
- Experience collecting and documenting test data
