Job Summary
The Interventional Radiology Clinical (INTRA CL) Technologist is based in the healthcare facility and specializes in neurointerventional radiology procedures. This role involves performing advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under physician supervision, such as angiography, embolizations, coilings, and clot retrievals. The position supports the clinical team by ensuring safety protocols are followed and quality standards are maintained throughout all interventional procedures.
Job Details
- Provides technical support for all interventional radiology and neurointerventional procedures, including discograms, aspirations, therapeutic injections, angiography, and ablations.
- Offers clinical assistance and technical support for neurointerventional procedures such as tumor embolization, epistaxis control, and spinal lesion embolization, both sterile and non-sterile.
- Operates advanced imaging equipment following established guidelines and imaging protocols specific to interventional and neurointerventional patient care.
- Ensures safety standards are met and radiation safety practices are adhered to during procedures.
- Instructs students and residents, performing preceptor duties when applicable.
- Conducts quality assurance checks on equipment and assists in maintaining supply inventory for all neurointerventional procedures.
- Utilizes information systems including interventional radiology scheduling to coordinate care.
- Reviews coding procedures for accurate billing of all neurointerventional procedures.
- Learns new techniques and technology by attending educational events, seminars, and readings.
- Adheres to clinical principles, methods, and procedures while performing or supervising diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with hospital policies and incident reporting protocols.
- Schedule: 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., on call required every other weekend, 4x10-hour shifts per week.
- Required Qualifications: Associates degree in radiologic technology, New York State license as Radiologic Technologist, ARRT(R) certification, BLS certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross), neurointerventional radiology experience, and 0.0 years of experience.
