Overview

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead health, safety, and environmental (HSE) initiatives on commercial and industrial construction projects. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety standards, conducting jobsite audits and inspections, managing incident investigations, overseeing subcontractor safety programs, and driving a proactive safety culture across projects.

The ideal candidate is a strong field leader with construction safety experience who can effectively partner with project teams, subcontractors, and management to maintain safe and productive job sites.


Responsibilities

  • Lead all safety activities for assigned construction projects.
  • Conduct daily site walks, safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments.
  • Develop and review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and pre-task plans.
  • Investigate incidents, prepare reports, identify trends, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Mentor, coach, and support project teams to promote a positive safety culture.
  • Manage subcontractor safety programs, coordinators, and compliance efforts.
  • Facilitate and track safety training programs.
  • Maintain safety documentation, records, and reporting metrics.
  • Serve as the primary safety resource for field personnel and project leadership.
  • Support case management, injury prevention, environmental compliance, and high-risk activity planning.


Must-Have Qualifications

  • 3+ years of safety management experience in commercial or industrial construction environments.
  • OSHA 510 certification required.
  • OSHA 500 certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and preparing safety reports.
  • Experience creating and reviewing Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
  • Strong understanding of OSHA standards, hazard recognition, and risk mitigation.
  • Ability to collaborate with field teams and promote a positive safety culture.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, PDF editing tools, SafetyCulture Auditor, Box, and Smartsheet.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and administrative skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • CHST (Certified Health and Safety Technician)
  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
  • SMP (Safety Management Professional)
  • SMS (Safety Management Specialist)
  • STSC (Safety Trained Supervisor Construction)
  • OSHA 500 Certification
  • Mechanical contractor experience, preferably HVAC projects.
  • Data center construction experience.
