Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Human Resources (HR) Generalist to support a non-profit organization in Union County, New Jersey. This Long-term Contract position will play a key role in strengthening daily HR operations while serving as a trusted resource for employee relations matters, workers compensation administration, and reporting needs. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in HR processes, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively across multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
• Provide day-to-day guidance on employee relations matters, helping managers and staff address workplace concerns in a fair, consistent, and compliant manner.
• Oversee workers compensation activities, including case coordination, documentation follow-up, and communication with internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Maintain accurate HR records and support core human resources administration processes across the employee lifecycle.
• Prepare, analyze, and distribute reports from Dayforce and other HR systems to support operational and workforce decisions.
• Use Microsoft Excel to organize data, track trends, and create clear reporting for HR leadership and business partners.
• Partner with leadership to support policy interpretation, issue resolution, and adherence to employment practices and organizational standards.
• Assist with HRIS-related tasks, including data review, system updates, and process support tied to ongoing HR operations.
• Contribute to process improvements and support HR-related system or workflow changes when needed as part of broader departmental responsibilities.
• At least 3 years of experience in human resources, including broad generalist-level responsibility.
• Demonstrated success handling complex employee relations matters with discretion and sound judgment.
• Experience administering workers compensation processes and managing related documentation.
• Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms, including HRIS reporting and data management.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills for reporting, tracking, and analysis.
• Solid knowledge of HR administration practices and employee record management.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work well across teams.
