Certified CVOR Surgical Technologist

Location: Savannah, GA 31404

Shift: Full-Time Days – 10s or 12s, starting at 6:30 AM and ending depending on shift. Rotating weekends. On-call is dependent on schedule request.

Position Summary:

The Open Heart Surgical Technologist works under the direct supervision of the circulating OR RN to assist the operating surgeon during cardiovascular and thoracic procedures. The role involves preparing the OR, managing surgical instruments and equipment, assisting with patient positioning, performing surgical counts, and supporting quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and manage instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures.
• Assist in preparing the operating room for the next patient.
• Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization.
• Assist with patient positioning and transportation.
• Obtain needed equipment and supplies.
• Perform appropriate counts with the circulator before the operation and before incision closure.
• Perform assigned tasks supporting various patient populations.
• Maintain an environment that supports quality care through effective use of resources and personnel.
• Respond to patient and customer needs with urgency and professionalism.
• Participate in continuing education, staff development, and hospital committees.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• OR experience required.
• 1–2 years of CVOR experience required.
• Current Surgical Technology certification required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
• Current AHA or American Red Cross BLS required.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

CVOR Details:

• 2 Heart OR Suites
• Approximately 1,000 cases per year and growing
• Team performs most cardiac and thoracic procedures, except transplant
• Position reports to the CV Coordinator and Director of CV Surgery

Salary:

• $28–$38/hr based on experience
• $3.15/hr – 2nd Shift Differential
• $4.00/hr – 3rd Shift Differential
• $5.00/hr – On-Call Differential
• $15,000 Sign-On Bonus
• Relocation Assistance: Case by Case Basis
