Job Summary
Speech Language Pathologist (Inpatient) Location unspecified. This role involves providing speech, language, and swallowing therapy to adult and geriatric patients within an inpatient setting. The position requires managing patients with neurological and degenerative conditions, utilizing specialized assessment and treatment techniques to support patient recovery and communication.
Job Details
- Certifications: BLS, Certified Clinical Competence Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP), Idaho Speech-Language Pathologist license, MBSImP, Vital Stim all required in hand at time of submission
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, including bedside swallow evaluation, Modified Barium Swallow Studies (VFSS), dysphagia management, and communication assessment
- Schedule: Days, 10-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as CVA, TBI, dementia, dysphagia, neurodegenerative diseases, post-extubation/trach, ACDF
- Responsibilities: Conduct bedside swallow evaluations, interpret Modified Barium Swallow Studies, develop treatment plans, utilize alternative communication devices, and educate patients and families
- Required Qualifications: Valid Idaho SLP license, BLS, CCC-SLP certification, MBSImP, Vital Stim certification, minimum 1 year of experience in acute or inpatient care setting
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with acute care and adult rehabilitation facilities, charting system experience with Epic, and prior community hospital experience
- Additional Information: The unit supports interdisciplinary collaboration with IV teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and other special procedures relevant to neuro and dysphagia care. Orientation includes 30 hours of onsite training.
