Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist – CVOR CST
Location: Greenville, SC
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day Shift | 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Schedule: 4x10-hour shifts/week | On-call required, including after-shift call Friday–Sunday during scheduled weeks

Pay Rate
Local: $53 - $56/hour
Traveler: $59 - $62/hour

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist for cardiovascular and cardiothoracic operating room procedures. Level I Trauma experience, CVOR experience, and first-assist experience are required.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of surgical technologist experience.
Level I Trauma experience required.
Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification through NBSTSA. Pending certification is not accepted.
BLS certification.
Cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) experience.
First-assist experience.
Experience with complex cardiovascular surgical procedures.
Ability to participate in the required on-call rotation.
Willingness to float to other units or campuses based on facility needs and qualifications.
First-time travelers are not accepted.
Preferred Qualifications
Responsibilities
Provide surgical technologist support for cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgical procedures.
Assist the surgical team with preparation, instrumentation, and intraoperative support.
Support first-assist responsibilities within the candidate's authorized scope and facility protocols.
Assist with procedures including:
Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)
Aortic aneurysm repair
Mitral valve replacement
Atrial septal defect (ASD) repair
Atherectomy
Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO)
Ventricular assist device (VAD) management
Cardiomyoplasty
Pericardial window procedures
Maintain sterile technique and ensure appropriate preparation of instruments and supplies.
Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia staff, and other perioperative team members.
Participate in on-call coverage as scheduled.
Float to the Main OR when CVOR volume is low and to other qualified units or campuses according to facility policy.
Follow hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, and patient safety standards.
