Salary $110,000-$118,000
Compensation & Benefits
- Incentive Compensation Program (ICP) Bonus: Up to 10%, based on organizational profitability.
- Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate.
Schedule & Travel
- Core working hours: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with flexible start times available.
- Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following successful completion of training and demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Minimal travel required:
- Domestic travel approximately once per year.
- Potential international travel every 2 to 3 years.
Position Summary
An industry-leading manufacturing organization is seeking a highly motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and enhancement of mud pumps, positive displacement pumps, frac pumps, and related pumping equipment. This role plays a key part in driving innovation, improving product performance, and ensuring the reliability and safety of complex mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong machine design expertise and a proven track record in pump-related equipment development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical engineering support for mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Develop innovative mechanical designs with a focus on safety, efficiency, manufacturability, and compliance with industry standards.
- Perform stress analysis and engineering calculations for mechanical components and assemblies.
- Create detailed engineering layouts, models, and drawings in accordance with established engineering practices.
- Conduct tolerance analysis and review engineering documentation to maintain design quality.
- Research, evaluate, and specify purchased components for performance, compatibility, and cost effectiveness.
- Develop and execute test plans to validate component and system functionality.
- Prepare engineering reports documenting design activities, analyses, testing, and results.
- Remain current with evolving engineering software, hardware, and technology trends.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during concept development, product design, manufacturing, and system integration activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).
- Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience designing and developing mechanical equipment and machine systems.
- Direct experience designing:
- Mud Pumps
- Positive Displacement Pumps
- Frac Pumps
- Or closely related pumping equipment
- Strong mechanical design background with demonstrated product development experience.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as:
- Creo
- Inventor
- SolidWorks
- Experience with FEA software such as:
- Ansys
- SolidWorks Simulation
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, hydraulic schematics, and electrical drawings.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with mechanical systems, fabrication, welding, or technical hobbies.
- Experience working within ISO-certified or API Q1-certified manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with industry standards including API 6A, API 7K, and API 8C.
- Experience designing, implementing, or supporting hydraulic systems.
