Job Description
Project-Based / Quarterly Sampling
I-2-I Solutions is seeking a qualified Water Sampling Technician to support a Water Management Services project covering 14 public housing facilities throughout San Antonio, Texas.
The technician will be responsible for quarterly environmental water sampling, proper sample labeling, chain-of-custody documentation, field records, and coordination of samples for laboratory analysis. The project includes approximately 137 validation samples per quarterly round, subject to revision.

Responsibilities
- Travel to all assigned facilities throughout San Antonio.
- Collect environmental water validation samples quarterly.
- Properly label, handle, and document all samples.
- Complete and maintain chain-of-custody documentation.
- Coordinate sample delivery/shipping for laboratory analysis.
- Maintain accurate sampling and field records.
- Report any access issues, unusual conditions, or sampling problems to the project manager.
- Follow site-specific Water Management Program procedures and applicable safety requirements.
The project requires quarterly validation sample collection, chain-of-custody handling, and submission to the laboratory.
Additional Field Work, if qualified
- Chlorine testing at a minimum of 5 locations per property.
- Cold-water outlet temperature measurements.
- Hot-water outlet temperature measurements.
- Hot-water return temperature measurements.
- Water heater and hot-water tank temperature measurements.
The RFP requires these physical testing activities to be performed by certified water hygiene technicians.
Qualifications
- Previous environmental, potable-water, or Legionella sampling experience preferred.
- Experience completing chain-of-custody forms.
- Ability to accurately document field activities.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel between all 14 San Antonio locations.
- Ability to complete scheduled quarterly sampling rounds.
- Water Management Program or Legionella sampling experience preferred.
- Certified Water Hygiene Technician qualification required if performing the chlorine and temperature monitoring portion.
