- Break larger testing assignments into individual tasks and coordinate activities with other technicians as needed.
- Provide technical guidance and instruction to less-experienced technicians to ensure tasks are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
- Apply established testing techniques, procedures, and acceptance criteria while maintaining accurate test results and documentation.
- Use laboratory scheduling, data-management, and documentation systems to track testing activities and maintain test records.
- Identify and resolve testing, equipment, wiring, and hardware issues with minimal supervision.
- Support engineering teams during troubleshooting, validation, development, and failure-analysis activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment and follow all applicable safety procedures.
- Manage multiple testing activities and priorities while meeting project schedules and deadlines.
- Communicate test status, issues, findings, and recommendations clearly to engineers, technicians, and project teams.
Core Qualifications
- 6+ years of closely related test technician, electronics technician, laboratory, automotive, or engineering-support experience; or an associate degree in a related technical field with 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience using electronic test equipment, including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, power supplies, and related diagnostic equipment.
- Strong experience using hand tools such as pliers, screwdrivers, ratchets, crimpers, cutters, and other mechanical/electrical tools.
- Experience fabricating test boxes, custom fixtures, electrical assemblies, and complex wire harnesses.
- Ability to assemble and disassemble vehicle interior and exterior components.
- Strong understanding of electrical and electronic fundamentals, including wiring, circuits, signals, voltage, current, resistance, and continuity.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems to the component level.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a laboratory or engineering environment.
- Strong diagnostic, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
