Job Overview
We are seeking dependable Production Operators to work in a manufacturing environment in Wytheville, VA. In this role, you will operate compression presses to manufacture molded rubber components while following safety procedures, work instructions, and quality standards. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a hands-on production environment, inspecting finished products, and maintaining consistent production quality.
This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for candidates interested in long-term manufacturing employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate compression presses to manufacture molded components according to production specifications.
- Apply lubricant to molds as required.
- Assemble, weigh, and prepare materials according to molding specifications.
- Load prepared materials into molds and initiate the curing cycle.
- Safely unload cured parts from presses.
- Visually inspect components for defects and ensure they meet quality standards.
- Trim, finish, inspect, and package parts according to work instructions.
- Complete production reports and maintain accurate records.
- Follow established safety procedures, standard operating instructions (SOIs), and quality requirements.
- Operate multiple presses and manage different production processes as assigned.

Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk continuously for more than 6 hours per shift.
- Frequently use hands and fingers to handle materials, reach, and perform production tasks.
- Occasionally lift materials weighing up to 30 lbs.
- Perform repetitive manufacturing and inspection tasks throughout the shift.
Work Environment and Safety
- Work onsite in a manufacturing facility; remote work is not available.
- Summer temperatures in the production area may exceed 100°ree;F.
- Exposure to hot molds and high surface temperatures.
- Required personal protective equipment includes safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
- Heat-resistant gloves are required for certain tasks.
Equipment and Materials
Operators may work with compression presses, molds, hoists, spray guns, air hoses, and hand tools. Materials include rubber compounds, fabric, inserts, lubricants, tape, and packaging supplies.
