Weekend Caregiver

FirstLight Home Care of the South Hills is hiring Weekend Caregivers for in-home, non-medical care. Shifts are in clients’ homes in the South Hills and northern Washington County, including Canonsburg, Peters, McMurray, Cecil, Upper St. Clair, Bethel Park, Mt. Lebanon, and Bridgeville. This is not facility work, and it is not an overnight shift.

We need people who can work Saturday, Sunday, or both. Current openings include shifts of up to 8 hours, plus shorter visits of a few hours. Clients are older adults whose weekday help is off. You follow a written service plan for that person.

Responsibilities

• Personal care on the plan: shower or sponge bath, dressing, grooming, toileting, or incontinence care
• Help with bed-to-chair transfers, walking, a walker, or a wheelchair
• Simple meals or snacks, and help with eating if needed
• Medication reminders only — not skilled nursing
• Light household work tied to the visit: laundry, linens, kitchen and bath wipe-down, clearing trip hazards
• A ride or escort to church, a store, or a local errand when it is on the plan
• Companionship, and a short note to the office if walking, mood, appetite, or skin has changed
• Clock in and out on our caregiver app at the client’s address

Schedule

• Saturday, Sunday, or both
• Shifts of up to 8 hours, and some visits of only a few hours
• Assigned by the days you can work, how long a block you can take, and how close you live to the client
• Reliable car required

Compensation and benefits

• $17.00 per hour to start
• Paid orientation and paid skills training before the first case
• Mileage reimbursement when you drive a client or travel between weekend clients
• 401(k) with company match

• W-2 employment
• Support from a local office, not an out-of-state call center

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the United States
• Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle
• Able to pass a background check and drug screen
• Able to read a care plan, write a short visit note, and speak clearly with clients, families, and the office
• Physically able to assist with mobility and personal care
• CNA, STNA, HHA, or family caregiving experience is helpful but not required
