Steel Estimator

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented Structural Steel Estimator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with structural steel projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine material requirements and project scope.
• Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors through effective negotiation to secure favorable pricing and terms.
• Manage project budgets by estimating labor, material costs, equipment needs, and overhead expenses accurately.
• Analyze bid documents, contracts, and project schedules to develop comprehensive estimates aligned with project timelines and client expectations.
• Coordinate with project managers and construction teams to ensure estimates align with project goals, scope changes, and contractual obligations.
• Maintain up to date knowledge of industry trends, material prices, and new estimating technologies to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Experience:

• Proven experience in managing projects as a construction estimator within the construction industry.
• Knowledge in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and reviewing construction plans for accurate cost estimation.
• Ability in negotiating with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to achieve competitive pricing.
• Solid understanding of construction site operations, safety protocols, contracts, and project management principles.
• Experience in estimating material requirements from blueprints and managing material cost estimates effectively.
• Familiar with cost control techniques including budgeting, cost management strategies, and tracking project expenses throughout the lifecycle of the project.
• Excellent communication skills for client interactions, team collaboration, and presenting detailed estimates clearly.
• Construction industry experience focusing on commercial projects involving structural steel components is highly preferred.
