Job Description
We are looking for a Communications Specialist to support communication initiatives for a nonprofit organization in Memphis, Tennessee. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can balance day-to-day administrative coordination with thoughtful messaging that supports broader outreach and engagement goals. The role works closely with project managers and contributes to internal communications and campaign execution.
Responsibilities:
• Support project managers by coordinating schedules, tracking tasks, and handling day-to-day administrative activities that keep communication projects moving forward.
• Develop clear, audience-appropriate content for communication plans, announcements, and campaign materials aligned with organizational objectives.
• Assist with the planning, creation, and distribution of email campaigns to promote initiatives, updates, and key messages.
• Contribute to marketing-related activities by preparing materials, organizing content, and helping maintain consistency across communications.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather information, refine messaging, and ensure timely delivery of communications.
• Help manage internal communications efforts by drafting updates and supporting messaging for employees and leadership teams.
• Monitor project progress and follow up on action items to help maintain deadlines and communication workflows.
• Experience supporting communications, marketing, or project-based administrative work in a detail-focused setting.
• Ability to write and edit effective content for email campaigns, internal updates, and related communication materials.
• Familiarity with marketing activities and communication coordination across multiple projects.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities, deadlines, and follow-up tasks effectively.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills with attention to tone, accuracy, and audience needs.
• Proficiency with standard office and collaboration tools used for document preparation, scheduling, and communication.
