Family Office Tax Manager / Director

A well-established private investment and family office with a diversified portfolio of real estate and other investments is seeking an accounting and tax professional to join its team. The organization manages a range of privately held investments and related entities and offers a hands-on environment with exposure to both family office operations and investment activities.

\n

\n

This role will work across tax compliance, partnership accounting, investment operations, and family office accounting, providing an opportunity to gain broad exposure to the financial activities of a private investment organization.

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Prepare individual income tax returns, including Form 5500, and assist with related tax compliance.
\n
• Prepare and assist with tax matters involving partnerships, individuals, trusts, estates, and foundations.
\n
• Perform monthly accounting and reconciliations for various investment partnerships in the portfolio.
\n
• Support investment-related activities, including cash tracking, capital calls, distributions, funding, loans, and acquisitions.
\n
• Maintain cash rollforwards and reconcile investment and operating accounts.
\n
• Coordinate with external administrators and service providers on investment activity.
\n
• Maintain loan schedules and supporting financial documentation.
\n
• Assist with bookkeeping, bill payment, and other family office accounting needs.
\n
• Prepare financial schedules, reporting, and ad hoc analysis.

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Accounting and/or tax experience, preferably in a family office, investment, or public accounting environment.
\n
• Experience with individual and partnership tax preparation, with exposure to trusts, estates, and foundations.
\n
• Strong accounting and Excel skills; QuickBooks Online experience is a plus.
\n
• Ability to work across both tax and investment-related responsibilities.
\n
• Strong attention to detail, organization, discretion, and ability to manage deadlines.
