Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 36- or 48-hour weekly contracts accepted | Contract lengths of 13–26 weeks accepted

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Monitor, interpret, and manage cardiac dysrhythmias via telemetry and remote monitoring
• Perform and manage clinical skills including IV placement and maintenance, central line blood draws, PICC line management, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and PCA/heparin/insulin administration
• Manage respiratory support modalities including BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Utilize Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR for medication administration, documentation, and communication
• Float to other Medical Surgical units and a main campus location as required; must be available to serve on a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters

Required Qualifications

• Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable at time of submission)
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical/Telemetry RN experience required
• Must be available to work every other weekend and holidays (must work 2 of 3 major holidays); no blocked scheduling requests accepted (exception: weekend blocks Friday–Monday)
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are welcome to apply; a local rate will apply

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience with wound care/wound vac, chest tubes, colostomy/ileostomy management, and pre/post hemodialysis management
• Familiarity with a broad range of patient diagnoses including CHF, sepsis, COPD, GI bleed, renal failure, and post-surgical recovery
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
