Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Days | Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM | Weekend hours: call only

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a Surgical First Assistant within a perioperative services department supporting six major operating rooms
• Assist with surgical procedures across multiple specialties including OB, GYN, General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, and Podiatry
• Function as part of the standard intraoperative care team, maintaining appropriate patient ratios and care standards
• Participate in a regular call rotation with the surgical technologist team, including weekend call as required
• Document and manage patient information using the MedHost electronic health record system
• Adhere to facility dress code and surgical attire requirements while in all procedural areas

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license or surgical technologist credentials applicable to a Surgical First Assistant role
• Certified First Assistant (CFA) certification required
• Successful completion of a surgical First Assistant training program
• Minimum of 1 year of post-training experience as a Surgical First Assistant
• Demonstrated competency assisting with OB, GYN, General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, and Podiatry procedures

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of experience in a Surgical First Assistant role
• Experience working in an acute care hospital setting with a high-volume surgical department
• Familiarity with MedHost or comparable electronic health record systems
• Professional demeanor with a collaborative and pleasant approach to team-based care
