Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend and Holiday | Expected 36–48 hours/week; overtime may be available after 48 hours

Key Responsibilities

• Perform head-to-toe assessments, medication administration via a variety of routes, and care plan formulation and documentation
• Provide wound, line, and drain care in a high-acuity, fast-paced medical surgical environment
• Utilize equipment including Epic EMR, Accudose Rx, Alaris IV pumps, and Philips vitals machines
• Float across multiple med-surg units and campuses, including oncology, cardiac, neuro, trauma med-surg, observation, medical behavioral, and innovations units
• Call in daily to confirm assigned unit for each shift; nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4–5 (days/evenings) and 1:5–6 (nights)
• Complete orientation including two full training shifts across campuses and campus tours during the first week

Required Qualifications

• Active North Dakota RN license or compact state RN license
• BLS certification – must be American Heart Association (AHA)
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Surgical experience in a large, busy hospital (minimum 200 beds)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience working within a Level 2 or higher trauma center
• Willingness to float within the Med-Surg cluster and between campuses
• Must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates living 60–80 miles from the facility may be subject to a local travel rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous float pool or resource pool experience strongly preferred
• Experience in a hospital with 250+ beds
• Travelers with primary experience in a Resource Pool or Float Pool may be considered even if this is their first travel assignment
