Special Education Teacher | Minneapolis, Minnesota

Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting grades 6-8 students in a resource room setting. This contract position is based in Northeast Minneapolis, MN, spanning from October 16, 2026, to June 10, 2027. You’ll work 38.75 hours per week, with a schedule of 7:15 AM to 3:30 PM, experiencing a close-knit environment at a small school where robust support is central to success.

Key Qualifications:

• Hold or be eligible for Tier 3 or Tier 4 Special Education licensure in Minnesota (preferred)
• Experience teaching middle school students (grades 6-8) in a resource room or similar setting
• Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and the ability to tailor instruction to diverse learning needs
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, partnering effectively with colleagues, administrators, and families
• Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and positive classroom culture

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small-group instruction to students with a range of learning needs
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, using data to inform instructional decisions and document student progress
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers for comprehensive student support
• Engage families as partners in the educational process, ensuring regular and constructive communication
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment that encourages student growth
