Special Education Teacher in Arvada, CO

Step into a dynamic educational environment supporting students’ growth and success as a Special Education Teacher within an elementary setting. This contract opportunity offers the chance to make a real impact, designing and implementing individualized instruction for a dedicated classroom of 11 students with behavioral challenges, including autism. You’ll collaborate with a highly supportive team of full-time paraeducators as well as specialized professionals such as a BCBA, SLP, OT/PT, and psychologists/social workers.

What you'll bring to the role:

• Active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) license, or in the process of obtaining one (must provide copy with application)
• Minimum of two years’ classroom experience working with students with behavioral challenges and autism
• Demonstrated flexibility, willingness to work in a team-focused environment, and effective communication skills
• Commitment to professional best practices in special education
• Ability to participate in a mandatory school tour and in-person interview

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and develop individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
• Collaborate closely with paraeducators and related service providers to maximize student engagement and progress
• Implement evidence-based behavioral and instructional strategies to support student growth
• Track and report progress toward educational goals in compliance with regulatory standards
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom culture focused on each child’s strengths

This is a full-time, onsite position providing 37.5 hours per week (35 hours paid), following the academic calendar through May 2027.
