School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Evanston, Illinois

As a full-time RN, you’ll provide essential healthcare services to a school community of approximately 500 students, helping to create a safe and nurturing environment conducive to learning and growth.

Ideal candidates will be passionate about student health and thrive in a collaborative educational atmosphere. While previous school nursing experience is preferred, those with a clinical background who can articulate their motivation for transitioning to school nursing are welcome to apply.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license, valid in Illinois
• Experience in school nursing is a plus, but not required
• Strong clinical background; able to explain desire to work in a school setting
• Understanding that school nursing compensation is different from most clinical roles
• Willingness and ability to commute comfortably to the Waukegan campus
• Dedication to supporting the academic and health needs of K-8 students

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct care and manage minor injuries or illness occurring during school hours
• Develop and manage health care plans for students with chronic conditions
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support students’ health and learning
• Maintain accurate and confidential health records
• Educate students and staff on health topics, illness prevention, and wellness
