Job Description

Embark on an impactful opportunity supporting students with complex medical needs on their daily transportation. This contract role is ideal for an experienced and caring RN or LPN ready to make a meaningful difference. You’ll join a supportive environment near Quincy, MA, riding mornings on a dedicated school bus route for the school year through June 2027.

In this part-time role, you’ll provide medical care monitoring and interventions to a small group of students, including those with seizure disorders, g-tubes, oxygen requirements, and significant allergies. Morning hours run from approximately 6:15 AM to 7:45 AM, Monday through Friday, totaling about 7.5 hours weekly. Orientation and shadowing with current bus nurses and school visits are arranged to ensure you feel fully prepared and supported.

What you bring:

  • Active Massachusetts RN or LPN license in good standing
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience—as a school nurse, pediatric nurse, or in a relevant clinical setting
  • Confidence in managing g-tubes, seizure protocols (Valtoco PRN), oxygen saturation monitoring, respiratory/airway support, and EpiPen administration
  • Compassion, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Comfort working autonomously and collaborating closely with school nursing staff

Your key responsibilities:

  • Provide attentive, hands-on care to students with complex medical needs during school transport
  • Monitor for changes in condition and administer medication/interventions as outlined in individualized transportation care plans
  • Ensure safety and comfort, maintaining communication with school health staff as needed
  • Familiarize yourself with specific student needs and routines through orientation and training

This is your chance to make a tangible difference in student well-being while maintaining a flexible, part-time schedule. If you meet the qualifications and are excited to take on this specialized nursing role, submit your application today!

Compensation for this position ranges from $35.00 to $53.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
