Position Overview

Aspire Senior Living Joplin is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Shower Aide (CNA) to join our nursing team!

The Shower Aide (CNA) is responsible for providing personalized bathing, hygiene, and personal care assistance to residents in a skilled nursing and long-term care environment. This position plays an essential role in promoting resident comfort, maintaining personal hygiene, protecting skin integrity, and ensuring every resident receives care with dignity, respect, and compassion.

The ideal candidate is a dedicated CNA who takes pride in delivering exceptional resident care, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and understands the importance of creating a safe, comfortable, and positive bathing experience.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Missouri required.

• Previous experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, senior living, or healthcare preferred.

• Experience assisting residents with bathing, personal hygiene, and activities of daily living preferred.

• Knowledge of proper bathing procedures, infection prevention, resident safety, and basic skin integrity monitoring.

• Ability to recognize and promptly report changes in resident condition.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

• Ability to follow individualized resident care plans and nursing instructions.

• Compassionate, patient, dependable, and committed to providing high-quality resident care.

• Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with the nursing team.

• Commitment to protecting resident dignity, confidentiality, and rights.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.

• Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and handling.

• Ability to push, pull, and maneuver bathing equipment, wheelchairs, and other resident care equipment.

• Ability to assist residents with transfers, repositioning, and mobility using appropriate equipment and safe handling techniques.

• Ability to lift with appropriate assistance or equipment.

• Ability to respond to resident emergencies and assist with evacuation procedures when required.

• Ability to perform essential job responsibilities safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
