Job Summary

Blue Kangaroo Packoutz is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Contents Restoration Technician to join our disaster recovery team. When our clients experience a fire, water, or mold disaster, you will be on the front lines helping to rescue, inventory, clean, and restore their personal belongings. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, high attention to detail, and the ability to treat our customers' possessions with the utmost care and respect.

Key Responsibilities

• Pack-Outs & Inventory: Safely handle, wrap, and pack personal belongings, furniture, and delicate items from residential and commercial properties.
• Digital Documentation: Use digital inventory software (e.g., iCat, Encircle) to photograph, barcode, and catalog all items leaving the loss site.
• Cleaning & Deodorization: Clean and restore damaged items at our facility using specialized equipment (ultrasonic cleaners, ozone chambers, specialized hand-cleaning techniques).
• Repacking & Storage: Carefully repack cleaned items into fresh boxes, update the digital inventory, and safely store them in our climate-controlled vault.
• Pack-Backs: Transport and carefully reset restored contents back into the customer’s home or business once property repairs are complete.
• Customer Service: Communicate professionally and empathetically with property owners going through stressful situations.
• Facility Maintenance: Assist in keeping the contents cleaning facility, workstations, and company vehicles clean, stocked, and organized.

Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Previous experience in restoration, moving, packing, or professional cleaning is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
• Comfort using smartphones or tablets for inventory software.
• Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to [50] lbs on a regular basis.
• Stamina to stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, and climb stairs.
• Must be comfortable working in environments that may have smoke damage, water damage, or mold (Personal Protective Equipment - PPE is provided).
