Industrial Cleaner-Manufacturing

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain production floors, equipment, conveyors, mixers, hoppers, dust collection systems, and processing areas.
• Remove absorbent material, dust, debris, and waste from production and warehouse areas.
• Perform routine housekeeping activities using industrial vacuums, sweepers, pressure washers, and hand tools.
• Clean around operating equipment while following established lockout/tagout and safety procedures.
• Collect, sort, and dispose of waste materials according to company and environmental guidelines.
• Assist with plant shutdowns, maintenance outages, and deep-cleaning activities.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervision when replenishment is needed.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, leaks, spills, or housekeeping concerns.
• Support production and maintenance departments as needed.
• Keep work areas inspection-ready and compliant with company housekeeping standards.
• Perform duties in accordance with all OSHA, company safety, and environmental policies.
• Participate in safety meetings and required training programs.
• Assist with general facility upkeep, including outdoor housekeeping and grounds maintenance.

Qualifications Required

• Ability to work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work in confined or elevated areas for extended periods.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and plant shutdowns as required.
• Basic understanding of workplace safety practices.
• Reliable transportation and strong attendance record.
• Must be able to work a rotating 12 hour shift.

Preferred

• Previous industrial cleaning, manufacturing, warehouse, or maintenance experience.
• Experience operating industrial cleaning equipment.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Experience working in dust-producing manufacturing environments.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to 50 pounds.
• Work in hot, cold, dusty, noisy, and physically demanding conditions.
• Climb ladders, stairs, and platforms.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, steel-toe boots, hearing protection, and gloves.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.

Work Environment

This position operates in an engineered absorbent manufacturing facility where exposure to dust, noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures is common. Strict adherence to safety procedures and PPE requirements is essential.
