Retail Manager in Training

The Retail Manager in Training role prepares high-potential retail professionals for advancement to Assistant Store Manager. With training across all store functions—including sales and customer experience, operations and inventory, and people leadership—you will build the skills to lead teams, support store performance, and deliver an exceptional customer experience. Day-to-day coaching and performance feedback will be provided by the Store Manager and District Manager. The role includes occasional local travel and regular travel within the district during training.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support store staff to promote effective performance and teamwork.
• Deliver excellent customer service and strengthen the overall customer experience.
• Support sales operations, sales forecasting, and achievement of store performance goals.
• Assist with inventory control, inventory management, and operational execution.
• Maintain visual merchandising and store presentation standards.
• Manage cash-handling activities and support loss-prevention procedures.
• Train team members and provide performance monitoring and feedback.
• Develop leadership skills through coaching from the Store Manager and District Manager, with regular travel within the district as needed.

Required Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in retail management.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of retail operations and point-of-sale systems.
• Experience with inventory management, visual merchandising, and sales forecasting.
• Knowledge of loss-prevention practices.
• Leadership, conflict-resolution, and customer-service skills.
