Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to patients across the age spectrum within the Surgical Services Department.
- Assist in perioperative activities: patient preparation, intraoperative support, sterile technique, equipment handling, and post-anesthesia recovery as directed.
- Monitor patient status, document interventions, and communicate changes to the surgical team and anesthesia providers.
- Administer medications and manage patient responses per orders, with emphasis on safety and precision.
- Collaborate with surgeons, circulating nurses, anesthesia staff, and other disciplines to coordinate care planning and patient flow.
- Ensure adherence to infection control standards, safety protocols, and accurate equipment and supply management.

Requirements
- Active California RN license.
- Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Certifications: BLS required; ACLS within six months of employment with recertification every two years; PALS within six months of employment (per current job notes); additional credentials in area of practice preferred (e.g., CNOR, PANAC, AAOPU for Outpatient).
- Experience: At least two years of recent experience in the field.
- Ability to work in a Surgical Services/OR setting and perform competent perioperative nursing duties.
