Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 31-bed telemetry unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, supported by nurse aides
• Monitor, read, and interpret all cardiac rhythms using Philips telemetry equipment
• Manage a high-acuity patient population including post-pacer, new onset AFib/RVR, ICU stepdowns, stroke, TBI, sepsis, hemodialysis, urology, and oncology patients with cardiac monitoring needs
• Collaborate with hospitalist/intensivist coverage, respiratory therapy (24/7), and pharmacy (24/7 with Omnicell) to coordinate patient care
• Document and manage care using Cerner EMR
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotation schedules, and be available to report within 30 minutes if placed on standby/call

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for practice in California
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Ability to read and interpret all cardiac rhythms independently
• Must be available to report to the unit within 30 minutes when placed on standby/call

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a telemetry or step-down unit setting
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR
• Experience caring for high-acuity patients including those with sepsis, TBI, stroke, or complex wound care needs
• Comfort working with CPAP/BiPAP (managed by respiratory therapy)
