Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Day Shift (0615–1845) | 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, nursing interventions, reassessments, and evaluation of care within the RN scope of practice
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and report abnormal findings to the appropriate provider; administer medications, IV therapy, oxygen therapy, blood products, and other treatments accurately and timely
• Complete required Cerner documentation in accordance with competencies, training, policies, and procedures; use Care Compass to organize and document assessments, care tasks, procedures, and patient education
• Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation and take appropriate action when needed
• Provide patient and family education related to disease process, treatment plans, medications, pain management, wound care, discharge planning, and follow-up care
• Collaborate with providers, staff, and other departments to support interdisciplinary patient care; serve as a mentor to other nursing staff

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of Med/Surg or Emergency Room experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Cerner EHR/EMR experience required
• Graduate of an accredited RN program required
• Current Colorado or Compact RN license required
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with observation and inpatient care in a Med/Surg unit setting
• Familiarity with SBAR communication format for care transfers
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment
