Travel RN – PCU / Progressive Care Unit (Nights)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend required | On-call requirements apply

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 12-bed Progressive Care Unit serving adult and geriatric populations with a 4:1 patient ratio
• Perform cardiac rhythm recognition and manage cardiac drips including Cardizem and Amiodarone
• Care for patients with common diagnoses including CHF, COPD, and A-fib with RVR
• Document and manage patient care using the Paragon electronic health record system
• Float as needed to Med/Surg and ED/ICU overflow areas to care for PCU and lower-acuity patients
• Maintain ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications throughout the duration of the assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in North Carolina or a compact state
• Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel placement

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification or experience
• PCCN certification preferred
• ICU experience and demonstrated competencies for higher-acuity float coverage
• Proactive, outgoing, and team-oriented approach to patient care
