Travel RN – Medical Surgical (7A–7P)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 48-bed Medical Surgical unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Perform IV starts, insertion of foley catheters, and insertion of NG tubes
• Administer and monitor heparin drips and perform EKGs
• Document patient care accurately using the Paragon EHR system
• Occasional float to inpatient rehab or the ED for task-based support (rare and unlikely)
• Work weekend hours as needed with no on-call requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience
• At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment completed
• Required certifications: NIH Stroke Scale, ACLS, and BLS
• Proficiency with IV starts, foley catheter insertion, NG tube insertion, EKGs, and heparin drip management
• Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible as a travel candidate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience managing a 1:6 patient ratio in a high-turnover environment
• Familiarity with the Paragon electronic health record system
• Background working in a Joint Commission accredited acute care facility
