Job Title

RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assistant)

Location

San Luis Obispo, CA | Operating Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 8-hour shifts with variable start times | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in a high-volume OR environment supporting 15–20 cases per day across 7 operating suites
• Perform first assistant duties across a variety of case types including orthopedics (total joints), general surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, and ophthalmology
• Adhere to a call schedule with an expected 1 call night per week and one weekend of call per month, with a 30-minute call response time required
• Document and manage patient care using Cerner Surginet EMR
• Scrubbing is preferred but not required for RN staff
• Work holidays only in emergency situations

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license with RNFA certification or training
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
• Ability to meet a 30-minute call response time

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Experience with Cerner Surginet EMR
• Familiarity with orthopedic, general, gynecological, and pediatric surgical cases
