Tax Preparer

Prepare accurate individual, small-business, trust, and estate tax returns while supporting clients through periodic consultations or end-to-end relationship management. This role reviews documentation, conducts tax research, verifies data, and manages mixed-complexity returns during filing season using multiple tax software systems. Completed returns are reviewed by a senior tax preparer before filing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual, small-business, trust, and estate tax returns.
• Review client documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Conduct periodic client consultations and manage end-to-end client relationships.
• Research tax issues and apply relevant tax regulations and filing procedures.
• Verify tax data and resolve discrepancies before submission.
• Maintain organized tax records and supporting documentation.
• Manage deadlines and mixed-complexity workloads during filing season.
• Use multiple tax preparation software systems and coordinate completed returns for senior preparer review.

Preferred Qualifications

• Three or more years of tax preparation experience.
• Tax preparation coursework or equivalent training.
• IRS Annual Filing Season Program Record of Completion.
• Enrolled Agent designation.
• Experience with tax preparation software and tax research.
• Knowledge of individual taxation, business taxation, and IRS filing procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail, client communication, and time management skills.
